Why Should You Get A Pool Report?

WHY DO I NEED A POOL REPORT ?

A Pool Report is essential information for any (current or prospective) pool owner for the following reasons:

  • A pre-purchase inspection offers the prospective purchaser valuable information in relation to the condition of the pool ie leakage rates, pump condition, filter condition, water quality etc. This information is as essential as a building and pest inspection, to better determine whether there are any short term repair/replacement costs upcoming.
  • A pre-sale inspection offers the current owner of the pool, information in relation to the general condition of the pool, so that he can make any necessary repairs/replacements prior to a prospective purchaser highlighting any issues that could lose the sale or put a purchaser in a negative frame of mind.
  • A current pool inspection report can add value to the property being sold.
  • In many states, a Pool Compliance report is mandatory when any property is sold or leased.
  • In many states, it has to be done every 3 years (in NSW) or 4 years (in QLD).
  • This regulation has come about due to the high number of backyard pool deaths, and nobody wants to see any more of those occur.
  • It is good practice to ensure good upkeep and a safe environment for everyone.
